What we fix at your location
Car won't start
On-site diagnostics: dead battery, bad starter, failed alternator, or something else — we find it and usually fix it same visit.
Battery replacement & jumpstarts
Tested, replaced, and properly registered — at your house or wherever the car died.
Brake repair
Pads, rotors, and calipers done in your driveway. Grinding noises don't fix themselves.
Alternators & starters
The two classic "stranded" repairs, handled where the car sits instead of behind a tow bill.
Pre-purchase inspections
Buying used in the Columbia area? We meet you at the seller and go through the car before you pay.
Something else?
Belts, hoses, water pumps, sensors, oil changes, fleet work — describe it and we'll tell you straight if it's mobile-friendly.
Why mobile beats the shop for most repairs
A shop visit really costs three things: the repair, the tow (or the risky limp-in drive), and the half day you spend arranging all of it. A mobile mechanic deletes the last two. You get an upfront quote before any work begins — parts and labor, no shop markup on the tow you didn't need — and your car gets fixed where it already is: your driveway in Lexington, the parking garage downtown, or the lot at work. For the repairs that genuinely need a lift or specialty equipment, we'll say so honestly and point you to a shop we'd trust with our own trucks.
Columbia knows car trouble
Famously Hot summers cook batteries — the three-year battery you got away with up north lasts closer to two here. Malfunction Junction backups overheat cooling systems that were already marginal. And a city full of commuters, USC students, and Fort Jackson families means a lot of cars that need to start every single morning. That's the work we do all day: show up, diagnose it honestly, fix it on the spot.
Frequently asked questions
How fast can a mobile mechanic get to me in Columbia?
Same-day service is often available, especially for morning calls — no-starts and stranded vehicles get priority. Scheduled work (brakes, inspections) is typically within a day or two.
Do you charge for coming out?
The diagnostic visit has a flat call-out fee, quoted when you book — and it's applied toward the repair if you have us do the work. No hourly meter for sitting in traffic, no surprise trip charges.
What areas do you cover?
Columbia proper plus the Midlands: Lexington, Irmo, West Columbia, Cayce, Forest Acres, St. Andrews, Blythewood, and Chapin. Near Fort Jackson? On-post access rules vary, but we regularly meet soldiers and families just outside the gates.
Can you fix anything in a driveway?
Most common repairs, yes: batteries, starters, alternators, brakes, belts, hoses, sensors, and diagnostics. Engine-out work, transmission rebuilds, and alignment need a shop — we'll tell you upfront rather than pretend otherwise.
Do you work on weekends?
Saturdays, yes — Mon-Sat 7am-7pm. Sunday emergencies are case-by-case; send the form and we'll answer honestly.
